Ingredients

Scale

Beef and Vegetables

  • 8 oz sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (optional)

Noodles

  • 2 packs instant ramen noodles, seasoning packets discarded

Sauce and Aromatics

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water or beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Cooking Oil

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (canola or avocado oil)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Slice the beef thinly against the grain for tenderness, cut broccoli into bite-sized florets, and mince garlic and ginger. Boil ramen noodles just until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the Beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef slices in a single layer and cook until browned and just cooked through, about 2-3 minutes. Remove beef and set aside to avoid overcooking.
  3. Stir Fry the Broccoli: In the same skillet, add more oil if needed and toss in broccoli florets. Stir fry for 3-4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender but still crunchy.
  4. Add Aromatics and Sauce: Add minced garlic and ginger, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in soy sauce, brown sugar, and water or beef broth to form the sauce. Stir to combine and let simmer for about 1 minute to thicken.
  5. Combine Everything: Return cooked beef to the skillet along with drained ramen noodles. Drizzle sesame oil over the top and toss all ingredients together until well-coated and heated through, about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped green onions over the stir fry. Serve hot immediately for best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Thinly slice the beef to ensure quick cooking and tenderness.
  • Do not overcook broccoli; keep it crisp and bright green.
  • Use fresh garlic and ginger for an intense flavor compared to powders.
  • Adjust sauce thickness by adding water or broth gradually to avoid dryness.
  • Cook noodles slightly under al dente to prevent mushiness during stir fry.
