Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (lean or regular)
  • 4 large flour or whole wheat tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (sharp or mild)
  • 1 cup chopped lettuce (romaine or iceberg)
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced or diced
  • 1 small onion (red or white), sliced or sautéed
  • 1/4 cup sliced dill pickles
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef. Season generously with salt and pepper, breaking up the meat with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat for a leaner wrap.
  2. Prepare the vegetables: While the beef cooks, wash and slice the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles. Having these prepped ahead makes assembling the wraps quick and stress-free.
  3. Warm the tortillas: Lightly warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave to make them soft and pliable, preventing cracking when wrapping.
  4. Assemble the wraps: Lay each tortilla flat and spread a thin layer of ketchup and mustard. Add a generous scoop of cooked beef, then top with shredded cheddar cheese, fresh veggies, and pickles.
  5. Roll and serve: Fold the sides of the tortilla inwards, then roll up tightly from one end to the other, securing all the fillings inside. Serve immediately for best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Use warm tortillas to prevent breaks and make rolling easier.
  • Don’t overfill the wraps to avoid bursting or messiness.
  • Season the beef well to enhance flavor.
  • Add cheese last and allow residual heat to melt it slightly inside the wrap.
  • Try using whole wheat or spinach tortillas for added color and flavor twists.
