Ingredients

Scale

Vegetables

  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped (or 1 cup frozen spinach, thawed and drained)
  • 1 cup artichoke hearts, drained and chopped (canned or jarred)

Dairy & Creamy Bases

  • 4 oz (1/2 block) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

Cheeses

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Seasonings

  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the spinach and artichokes: Drain and chop the artichoke hearts into bite-sized pieces. If using fresh spinach, roughly chop it; if using frozen spinach, thaw completely and squeeze out all excess moisture to prevent a watery dip.
  2. Mix the creamy base: In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Blend thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Add cheeses and seasonings: Stir in grated Parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella, minced garlic, salt, and pepper, ensuring the flavors are evenly distributed.
  4. Fold in spinach and artichokes: Gently incorporate the chopped spinach and artichokes into the creamy mixture, mixing carefully to avoid mashing the vegetables.
  5. Bake until bubbly: Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and the dip is bubbly hot.

Notes

  • Choose fresh or frozen spinach based on availability; fresh provides a brighter flavor, frozen is convenient.
  • Drain spinach and artichokes well to avoid a watery dip.
  • Use room temperature cream cheese for a smoother blend.
  • Combining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese offers a perfect balance of meltiness and sharpness.
  • Keep an eye on baking progress to prevent over-browning; every oven varies.
