Decadent Christmas Chocolate Biscoff Tart

The Decadent Christmas Chocolate Biscoff Tart is a rich, festive dessert that perfectly balances smooth dark chocolate ganache with a spiced, caramelized Biscoff cookie crust. Ideal for holiday gatherings, this elegant tart combines luxurious flavors and textures, making it a stunning centerpiece that’s both indulgent and comforting.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Biscoff Crust

  • 200g Biscoff Cookies (finely crushed)
  • 100g Unsalted Butter (melted, room temperature preferred)

For the Chocolate Filling

  • 200g High-quality Dark Chocolate (at least 70% cocoa, chopped)
  • 150ml Heavy Cream
  • 3 tbsp Biscoff Spread (chopped or softened)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Pinch of Sea Salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Biscoff Crust: Crush the Biscoff cookies finely in a food processor or using a rolling pin. Mix thoroughly with the melted unsalted butter until fully combined. Press the crumb mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom and sides of a tart pan. Chill in the refrigerator to set while preparing the filling.
  2. Make the Chocolate Filling: Gently heat the heavy cream on the stove until it is just about to boil. Pour the hot cream over the chopped dark chocolate and chopped Biscoff spread in a heat-safe bowl. Let sit for a few minutes to allow the chocolate and spread to melt, then stir gently until smooth, glossy, and ganache-like. Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt to balance the flavors.
  3. Assemble the Tart: Pour the chocolate ganache filling into the chilled Biscoff crust. Smooth the top evenly with a spatula. Return the tart to the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight to allow the ganache to set fully and develop a creamy texture.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Before serving, decorate the tart with crushed Biscoff cookie crumbs, chocolate shavings, or a light dusting of cocoa powder for extra texture and festive appeal. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use room temperature unsalted butter for the crust to ensure cookie crumbs coat evenly, resulting in a firm and non-brittle base.
  • Chill the crust well before adding the filling to prevent sogginess and maintain a crisp texture.
  • Choose high-quality dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa content for optimal richness and flavor.
  • Heat the cream gently to avoid curdling and ensure a smooth ganache.
  • Allow sufficient chilling time, preferably overnight, for the ganache to set perfectly and meld flavors.
  • Use a sharp knife warmed under hot water and dried before slicing for neat, clean cuts without cracking.
