Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 1 package store-bought crescent roll dough (gluten-free if needed)
  • 1 cup shredded or sliced fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 1215 pepperoni slices
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)

Optional

  • Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the crescent roll package. Lay out the dough triangles on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Have your mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices ready for assembly.
  2. Roll Out the Dough: Carefully unroll the crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles placed on the baking sheet with some space between each.
  3. Add the Cheese and Pepperoni: Place a slice or sprinkle a portion of shredded mozzarella on the wider end of each dough triangle. Top with several pepperoni slices and sprinkle a pinch of Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
  4. Roll and Shape: Starting from the wide end, gently roll each triangle towards the pointed end, enclosing the filling and forming a crescent shape.
  5. Brush and Bake: Lightly brush each roll with olive oil or melted butter to achieve a golden, shiny finish. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the rolls are puffed up and golden brown.
  6. Serve Warm: Allow the croissant rolls to cool for a few minutes out of the oven so the cheese sets slightly and doesn’t ooze out immediately before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overfill the rolls to prevent bursting during baking.
  • Use cold dough for easier handling and less sticking.
  • Space rolls evenly on the baking sheet to ensure uniform cooking.
  • For a glossier finish, brush tops with an egg wash made from one egg mixed with a tablespoon of water.
  • Let the rolls cool slightly before eating to avoid burning your mouth.
