Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 12 frozen potstickers (pork, chicken, shrimp, or vegetable)
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 green onions, sliced
  • 2 cups baby spinach or chopped bok choy
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Optional: chili flakes or sriracha, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare your aromatics and broth: Heat a little sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add minced garlic and grated fresh ginger, stirring until fragrant (about 1 minute). Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and bring it to a gentle simmer.
  2. Add potstickers to the simmering broth: Drop frozen potstickers directly into the simmering broth. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until tender and heated through.
  3. Incorporate vegetables: Add baby spinach or chopped bok choy and sliced green onions to the pot. Allow greens to wilt slightly in the hot broth.
  4. Season and finish the soup: Stir in soy sauce or tamari to taste. Add chili flakes or sriracha if desired for heat. Stir well and turn off the heat. Drizzle sesame oil just before serving for aroma.

Notes

  • Use frozen potstickers as they hold shape better and cook quickly.
  • Keep broth at a gentle simmer to avoid rubbery potstickers.
  • Fresh ginger and garlic give a deeper flavor than powder.
  • Add sesame oil at the end to preserve its nutty aroma.
  • Customize the greens with your preferred leafy vegetables.
